Hoping to slay 46K tonight, but we’ll have to see. I need to be a certain level of awake to pull off writing, and that’s been a little iffy this evening.
(AKA, faceplant keyboard, zzzz, argh, not time for bed yet.)
I did get a lot of Violence pulled off today. And Consequences of said Violence started rippling through the town. Which is ratcheting the tension between humans and supernaturals up even more, which is going to be gruesomely Bad….
In other news, Sanzo vs. the Alien Invasion is up on Archive of Our Own. Because the bunnies wanted some less complicated violence. 😉
(It is violent but fluffy, with totally platonic cuddles. We need more cuddles in fic….)
Update: 46K! *Thud* Aaaand I can see there’s just 4K left to do, but my brain is laughing hysterically at me. Will have to pick up again tomorrow!
Question: are spoilers on Goku’s limiter cognate available?

Current headcanon: in this AU, the limiters are actually more holographic projectors, allowing youkai to appear human. Goku’s mostly sane. Mostly.
(Hakkai, well, he can pass for sane?)
Some youkai are sane, at least after Sanzo gets hold of them. Others, not so much.
And Gojyo being hanyou is actually Hakkai’s fault.

Are we talking fault as in “Sorry, Didn’t mean to do that” or “You helped me, I like you, Mine”?

Closer to the first. More along the lines of a guy out of his head with fever coughing blood. Ouch.

At least with the Saiyuki crowd, we have a pretty good idea of which kami they mortally offended? With the added bonus that at least one of them finds them to be really amusing?
Re: Hakkai and Gojyo
At least it wasn’t intentional?
And Hakkai probably didn’t exactly volunteer to be feverish and coughing up blood.
Does fit in with their usual luck meaning that no good deed goes unpunished . . .
It’s impressive just how much chaos they can generate often simply by being themselves.
Should probably fear any of them saying “Oops.”

*Snrk* Kanzeon loves hir guys. Mind, it’s pretty tough love.
And no, Hakkai definitely didn’t intend to be in that situation. He wasn’t in his right mind at that point. Meep.
As for “oops”… the bunnies state that “Oops,” for Goku, can be fairly common and ranges from accidentally knocking down walls to stealing the last peach on the plate before Sanzo gets to it.
Oops from Gojyo is a little more serious, but probably ranges from “Out of cigarettes” to “There’s a second gang of assassins.”
Oops from Hakkai… Probably involves Sanzo giving Goku a quick lesson in division and multiplication. As in “Divide the number of bloody torn-off arms by two, and multiply the total number by a tenth in case some were smart enough to get away.”
Oops from Sanzo….
The bunnies elect to inform you that if that event ever occurs, they will be watching. From the next solar system.

Even with only limited knowledge of Saiyuki, my bunnies concur.
Through some are wondering if the next solar system is far enough . . . maybe one system buffer between them and oops would be good . . .

Well, hard to less complicated than Sanzo’s “just shot them” policy.

“Kill them. Kill them now. Kill them fast.” Ah, Sanzo. 🙂
Although in that case he was actually talking about humans who were letting youkai take the rap for their murders. Not that he cared what race they were. They were Evil and needed to die. Not least for making him break their disguises to go rescue someone….

So he’s related to Saitou, huh? “Kill evil immediately!”

Valley and Project sharing a universe is officially noncanon. Otherwise, with Valley predating Project by decades, this becomes plausible. Saitou had kids in the Confederacy, one of those made Sanzo, and the rest proceeds via standard such assumptions.
1) At some point Confederacy alterant tech was destroyed, alterant secrets hidden, and the surviving alterants went off and hid on some independent world. (But not the Republic, because the Republic would know, and this stuff is banned in the Republic.)
2) Confederacy, Satrapy, and probably any surviving Federation state obnoxiously sponsor pirates. Maybe the Republic isn’t sponsoring pirates?
