As promised, a different take on Mardi Gras.
14 rows of beads (the base row) does not evenly divide into three, so I used light gold to edge the whole thing – it’s another common Mardi Gras color, if not one of the three traditional ones. I think it gives a cooler effect than the 3-color diamonds in the other pair.
Given it’s still winter, cooler is appropriate, it’s just interesting how adding that one not-very-colored color makes things more icy.
Alright, this is totally more my speed, I think it was the warmth of the last one now. Or maybe it’s the purple, because that’s what’s drawing my eyes in this one. Really pretty! If only the bathroom hadn’t decided to start separating the shower backsplash from the wall.

Oof! That’s never good. Good luck with that.
(And I write down how to make all of these, so if you want a copy later, it’s always possible. 🙂 )

Hmm. Are the colors all equal? It’s just an illusion that the gold bands are thinner than the green and the …purple?

They are all equal. Maybe it’s the fact they’re a galvanized color, and so don’t throw as much light as the silver-lined green and royal purple?
