I know, I know – the pun was inescapable.
Here’s a tiny lizard on the yard patio – that’s concrete, BTW, so you get an idea of the grain size.
And here’s the same lizard right near my toe, for comparison.
Yep. Tip of my sneaker. Baby lizards are tiny.
So the lizard’s not the only mini-life in the yard. Mini-mushroom!
And mini terrestrial crustacean!
…This has been a scheduled break from the news for the sake of everyone’s mental health. Because seriously, who wouldn’t rather watch pillbugs than the news, lately?
Pillbugs! Roly-polies! They are cool!

Do you guys have those tiny little frogs that are small enough to sit on a dime and make it look like a lily pad?
I admit, I shrieked like a fangirl the first time I saw one! SO CUTE!

I know we have some small tree frogs locally, but mostly I’ve seen green tree frogs (yes, that’s the name) which run over an inch long.

Note: they aren’t always green – some are tannish or brown. You ID by the stripe on the side. 🙂

Picture on the top right looks correct!
The name is almost as good as the “Giant House Spider.” (Tegenaria duellica. It looks like a movie prop. And is FAST.)

I agree that pillbugs and tiny lizards are better than the news!
