Monarchs, the Sequel

So, did you guys know that monarchs can have multiple generations in a year, usually do, and only the last one flies back to Mexico? (Or southern Florida, yes there’s a population that does that.)

Yep, we have caterpillars again!

No less than five, in fact.

They do a fair amount of damage to the plants….

But we know from past experience that so long as they don’t eat it right to the ground, it will bounce back. And we currently have about enough plant for five caterpillars, so should be fine.

Oh – and have a midge, it was cool.

Plumose antennae! That means it’s a guy.

…Doesn’t seem quite fair, I could see a great anthro artwork with these feathery things….
