“Tony.” Ichigo was giving him another glare. “You’re beating yourself up again. Which means you’re stressing the chain. Quit it.” He brushed his fingers across Zangetsu’s cleaver hilt. “We going to do this?” Continue reading

Some Stray Worldbuilding Elements
Someone pointed out to me recently that a lot of movie fights are constrained by what will fit in a camera frame. This leads to, among other things, often misleading or minimal visual examples of the proper use of long-distance weapons. So if you plan to have proper use of arrow volleys or tank battles, make sure you read up on their historical use in warfare. On Writing: A Touch of Reality
Not all rose petals are soft. Not all plastic counters are smooth. On Writing: 4 AM Argh
One of the good reasons to get regular exercise is to try to wear yourself out enough that you sleep through the original witching hours; about 3 to 4 AM. If you went to bed before midnight (hopefully), this is when you wake up having had enough sleep to get your brain semi-working, but not enough to face the day. Continue reading
On Writing: Regular Maintenance
Every day, if you can, go for a walk. Even if it’s just pacing around your room for 15 minutes. Odds are you need to get your blood flowing – and if you’re trying to write a scene that has your characters doing intense action or intense thinking, you really need to get moving. Continue reading
Colors of Another Sky Progress Update: Fighting Mermen
